csc^2(a) = 1/4

csc(a) = +/- 1/2

then ask yourself, for what values of "a" is csc(a) = +/- 1/2
(or think in terms of sine, if that helps)

I think there's something wrong with the question.

csc is 1/sin so you're saying sin(x) = 2. That's impossible... sin oscillates between -1 and 1.

hmmm it was a question on topscore test 1....but the answer was something like {equal} i guess that means not possible...
