Answer is C. Why?

If you label the sidechains 1, 2, 3 from left to right, you can get the following tripeptide sequences.

1, 2, 3
1, 3, 2
2, 1, 3

Any other combinations are just rewrites of those 3...
 
no you have to remember that there is polarity. 123 is not equal to 321 because in 123, the N side is the 1 and the C side is the 3. For 321, the N side is 3, the C side is 1.
