Okay, I am trying to figure out what to do next year if I am not accepted into medical schools this year. I have 3.6 cGPA and 3.5 sGPA; if I do well in classes this year, then I will have 3.7 cGPA and 3.6 sGPA. My MCAT is 28 (12PS, 6 V, 10 BS). I will definitely retake MCAT and try to improve the verbal score. The problem is that I'm graduating from college this year, and I have no idea what to do next year. So I feel a little lost right now, and I would really appreciate your input and thoughts on what I should do next year. A year at NIH, MPH (Master of Public Health), Master in Medical Science, etc.

Need to increase that VR score to at least a 9. The options you listed are all good, some M.S. programs will guarantee admission to medical school upon completion of the 1-year master's program. Another option is to get more medical experience. I went the EMT route post-college and got my EMT-I. Loads of experience and you actually get to practice that bedside manner doctors are supposed to have 😉.

I have the same issue. Since i have most of the requirements for nursing school, i was thinking of going to nursing school to become and RN first and get some REAL medical experience first before doing the doctor thing. But you have other options like PeaceCorps, Teach for America, AmericaCorps, getting a Masters, getting a job. As long as its productive it all be good. Good luck!
