Hi all,
I could use some input on what to do in my current situation.
I finished 2nd year and am going to be doing a research year off this coming year. I had initially planned on taking step 1 before I started my research but I was over ambitious with my goals and am now in a bind. I decided to read FA, Goljan (audio and lectures), Clinical microbio made ridic. simple, and Costanzo physiology. Now I am about to start my research position soon (within the next week), but I have had very little time to do USMLE world questions. I have only finished a less than a couple hundred. I haven't taken any practice tests either so I have no idea where I stand besides the reassurance of what I have read from the review books.
Given what I have to work with, does anyone have any advice on restructuring my approach to studying for the test? How long should I put my test date off to do questions, and is it advisable to do it while I continue to do research during the day (i plan to work from 9am-4pm? Not the best situation. It would be nice to be able to take another 3 weeks off to just finish the Q bank, but I don't think that will be possible.
I appreciate any input. Thanks for reading and all the best.
