Trying to understand..

Alright, I am trying to understand the years of medical school.

I know there is 4 years of actual medical school... Alright, then residency, or do you do a internship? What's the actual playout after medical school? I'd like to know the years after m4, what happens in them years, and such straight up until you sign a contract with a group to be a doctor.

lol. I would use google if it was something to search for.

Suppose I do use google though, whynot just come here get my question answered from real medical students. and be done with it?

I just searched google for awhile, and never seen a list of what them things are, or what you do in them. :/

lol. I would use google if it was something to search for.

Usually you have 2 years of classroom, then 2 of clinical rotations...thats your first 4 years....depending on the schools program you are then an 'intern' your first year of residency that you choose. Different specialties have different lengths of residency.

Ah, thats exactly what I was needing. thank you. Why do they call it intern instead of PGY-1? Or does PGY-1 start after your "intern year"?

PGY-1 and an 'intern' are typically interchangeable

May I suggest adding some of these to the faq's as there is nothing of this sort there.
