Has anyone heard from TUCOM - MI about their waitlist status? It's going to be August soon, and we're still waiting to see something official/in writing...

I didnt recieve word about my position on the waitlist, so I emailed Dr. Haight and by the next day he wrote back. Also when I called the school, the secretary said the letters may not show up until the second week of July.

I don't understand this I have written Dr. Haight several times over the months I have been on the wiatlist and he never replies and now when I need him to reply I can't get him or Steve to answer my email. I have been offered a seat at another school but I would much rather attend TUCOM so I wrote to find out my position on the waitlist and I can't get an answer. I even called and the secretary told me th email Dr. Haight for that answer! AHHHHH
Any suggestions?

u know, for some reason I was under the impression that all wait lists are not ranked (its illegal?)... but I'm sure every school does, they just don't tell you.... 😕

I dunno... maybe I'm wrong?
but the COMP ppl said the waitlist is not ranked... 😕

Who/what source did you hear this from (if you can say)? After talking with a woman in the admissions office last week, she said that there has been waitlist movement. Dr. Haight confirmed this after talking to him on Monday, as he stated that two people were recently taken off that same day. Just trying to see where we stand...

No problem... Just had me worried there for a sec. 🙂 I know that the LV campus probably won't get many off the waitlist because there were only ~75 spots to fill. That and the fact that Dr. Haight mentioned (about a month ago) that the waitlist for LV was longer than MI. Guess the draw of Vegas is greater than an ex-Naval base. 😉

Well, I'm only worried because it determines where my girlfriend goes. She's the one who is on the waitlist at Touro, but has been accepted to LECOM (Erie). I'm just her liaison (...who signed up for SDN). 😉 We're both Southern California natives, so TUCOM is her first choice. Also there is the fact that she would have to move to Erie soon since their orientation begins on July 28, so we're both dying to find out from TUCOM. I start law school in the fall, so we're trying to stay as close to each other as possible (at least in the same timezone). 😀

Hi there everyone,

And good luck to you who are still on the waitlist. I was accepted to LECOM-Bradenton and while I would prefer staying on the west coast, I emailed Dr. Haight and told him I needed to get on with mi vida loca so I withdrew off the list. According to this site the class is full and I didn't want to wait any longer. He emailed me back and said that a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

I was really disappointed but C'est la vie and it could be much worse< I might not have gotten in anywhere and had to start over.

Congrats on LECOM -B!! How long did it take Dr.Haight to get back to you? I can't seem to ever get a reply from the man and I am holding a deposit while I am waiting for a reply.

I understand how you feel, specialkay (and congratulations). I visited the campus (err... building) at Bradenton with some friends who will be attending there in the fall, and it should turn out decent. At least you won't have snow to deal with like LECOM - Erie. 😉 But, hopefully my gf will be accepted to TUCOM so I can be a 1-hour plane ride away as opposed to an 8-hour saga. 😛

Baditude, when did you contact Dr. Haight last? I believe he was out of town the week of Aug. 30th.

It turns out I was having a problem with my email and I wasn't receiving mail from TUCOM.........I am on high alternate waitlist. So now I am not sure what to do I have an acceptance at another school but TUCOM is my first choice.

Hi...I am also on the high list and have been recently accepted at another school...even though I would have loved to stay in CA...I decided to take the other offer and let someone with no choice get a seat for TUCOM...good luck with the choice...just try and think about your fellow doctors to be

If anyone is withdrawing from TUCOM - MI, please submit that withdrawal in writing (e-mail). Admissions can't fill that seat until it is in writing, so it would relieve a lot of stress for some of us. 😀
