does anyone know if TUCOM screens more heavily than other schools before sending their secondary? it seems to say so in the letter that came with the secondary. or are they just sending it to all people who meet the minimum requirements as well?

it just says the policy on who gets 'em varies from school to school and not all candidates for admission recieves one from them in particular. i guess this is just the minimum requirement?

i think all letters imply that this was a selection process...and i guess in some ways it is...but really it's just a way to get more $$ from us.

I agree with the last poster. Isn't TUCOM's secondary fee $100? Thats a lot more than most schools.

Yes, it is $100.00 and I think it was the most of all apps I sent. Additionally, the acceptance deposit was REALLY steep. I had 2 weeks to decide and send in a $2000.00 deposit and then a month later, had to send in a tuition deposit of $1000.00. All of which is applied to the tuition. This was my last interview and I had sent in a $1000.00 deposit elsewhere to hold a spot. So, make sure you all save a lot of MONEY while applying!!!! As for TUCOM-NV, I LOVE it! 😀

Box, by the way, how is the new building down there? Are they still working some of the kinks out or is it up and running? I was wait listed (high) and am really thinking about Early Acceptance. Just wondering what it's like from your point of view.

i haven't received a secondary from TUCOM either. It's the last one I am waiting for hopefully...

It's going fine. They haven't finished the auditorium yet (Aug 30th is the target date) so we are having classes in the large classroom. Most things are up and running with small exceptions or finishing touches. I don't mind though. I hope this answers your questions. If not ask away. Good LUCK!

I just talked to the director of admissions at TUCOM-LV and he told me that to get a secondary application you need to have a 17 MCAT and a 2.5 GPA. They do in fact screen primaries for these requirements, but clearly they are not what you would consider typical of matriculants. (i.e. secondary standards are not as high as acceptance standards.)
