Tufts, NYU
Started by teethmonkey
I applied to Tufts back in May.
Here is what my Infosource says:
"Received/Under Review
Local Interpretation: Once your application is received, you will be sent a postcard requesting a $60 application fee. Please anticipate a minimum of 6-8 weeks for the Admissions Committee to review your file. Once your status is determined, you will be contacted in writing."
I didn't receive a postcard yet, maybe one is on its way. 🙄
Good Luck

Is there anyone scheduled for NYU interview on October 29th? I'm looking forward on seeing some SDNers at the interview 😀
Does anyone know what % of students interviewed at NUY actually get acceptance letters? I know, it?s a kind of a silly question... just curious 🙂

I know Ive seen the predents around the cafeteria at NYU on Fridays.
You can always tell who they are: nicely dressed, purple folders in hand, making sure they say/do the right thing. Hard to believe I was just there half a year ago.
Anyways, if you guys need any help/questions answered, Id be glad to help out... in between getting ready for Biochem, Organelles and Histo exams.....

The invitation letter came two weeks ago. I had to call in and schedule the interview. I could have done it a week after I got the letter, but the airfee was well over $500 from Cleveland to New York 😳

Do they send you anything else with the letter? or just a letter with the phone number to schedule the interview.
They send me one weak ago but I have't received it yet.
Good Luck for your interview 👍

Yes, there was a skinny envelope. Usually, such envelopes mean rejection 😀 There was just a letter asking to call before October 18 and schedule an appointment. If I were you, I would call NYU and tell them that you still haven't gotten the letter. Usually, it takes 2-3 days to deliver a letter in within US. I'm sure you may call them up and schedule an interview before that letter gets in (of course if you got selected)

Your scores are way too competitive for NYU. I got 3.30 for both BCP and overall and 18/19/20 DAT.
You are in 👎
youre good to go too DDS2B...dont sweat it.
who does this EHADDS guy think he is? haha
I got a letter from NYU since Sept 17, 2005, it said that I need to send them the application fee and a picture. It also said "In the event you are selected to interview, you will be notified in a separate letter"
I called them and they told me that they already received my fee and picture. It've been more than a month already. I'm still waiting and haven't heard anything yet. 🙄
Since you guys got an invitation letter for the interview already, does anyone know how long is it take to receive the invitation letter?
I'm new in here so thank you for any input 🙂 and good luck for all of your interviews.

it should be prety quick....I know for all my documents last year they sent via UPS Express. My interview notice was on 2 day express and acceptance was overnighter.
vancour: what does their acceptance look like? A package or thin letter? and when did you here about your acceptance?
thanks eha =)
isd: look at the interview post section for nyu. i wrote a very detailed description of what it was like for me. its dated 9/29/04
I see NYU is getting busy sending out interview invites...and I presume a lot more will be sent out. Im posting this in the best interest of the pre-dents who wish to be at NYU next year, and even for those just building their database of info on different schools.
Picking a dental school is a big decision, as youre most likely going to be there for the next 4 years of your life. So take your time, gather the info, and most importantly do what your heart tells you (sounds so korny, but its true) You have to live here, or wherever you go, you might as well like it.
Anyways, good luck to all interviewees...
Things about NYU you should know : big class ( I personally wouldnt have it any other way), great student support, great learning environment, they DO NOT DROP students, rather people FAIL OUT because they couldnt handle the academic load, the faculty and admin are quite helpful in accomodating students requests.
For interview: come prepared, have answers to the generic questions ready: why you wanna be a dentist? why nyu? what about nyc? etc etc. Prepare for other questions like whta are your good points/ bad points, what makes u different from other people, an ethical/moral dilemma you have been through and what it taught you etc. ALSO, have lots of questions ready, at least 5 or 6 in your mind ready to ask the interviewer, this shows interest. Plus, read the interview feedback info on SDN for NYU for further info
I dont know where your from, but NYC is a bigger city than you may think. You really have to be mentally prepared for living here.
Also, EHADDS is a great source of information. Hes not only my classmate, but roommate as well...actually now that I think of it, I see him way too much.... 😱 ...hahaha..

VancouverDoc2b and EHA DDS I pas the NYU torch to you (as was to me last year). I find time is slipping away at every moment and can't keep up on here. So far D2 life has been pretty calm and straight forward but now things will be picking up and I won't have the time to post on here and smack down the false rumors.
Good luck this year. D1 is not that bad at all until around May when you guys will be super busy for 2 months
