For context: I am incredibly interested in primary care and am interested in addressing disparities in healthcare, specifically would like to be involved in latinx communities as that is my background. Also, would like a school that emphasizes student wellness.

Tufts:

Pros:
  • in Boston
  • smaller class size than Jefferson
  • P/F pre-clinical
  • global health options in latin america both during the summer and then to 4th years
  • has the opportunity to volunteer with Entre Mujeres which is something I really really like
  • The HJSP program would be cool to participate in, but don't have info on how easy it is for students to be accepted into it
Cons:
  • expensive

Jefferson:
  • P/F
  • love how the curriculum is set up & the different threads students can choose for themselves
  • they actually have a medical spanish program that allows you to go to colombia b/w 1&2 yr and then do an elective during clinical years - but dont actually know how many students get accepted into
  • seems like that have a huge emphasis on community engagement and volunteering which is really important to me - being apart of JeffHope looks very rewarding and i like that there are a ton of options

Cons:
  • big class size - don't know how to feel about this either

Overall i don't think i can make a bad choice for myself, but just really conflicted because they're two amazing schools. Luckily, i am in a position where money is not too much of a deciding factor. I would like to match back to california, but both seem to give students that ability.

any and all opinions/advice/ets. are welcomed and appreciated!!

Biased as I didn't apply to Jefferson but have an A to Tufts, albeit one I likely won't take, but I'd choose Tufts here.

Very similar cities, but being from Massachusetts, I am biased towards Boston. Can't go wrong with the downtown locations of either, but I would easily pick Tufts. Not a single young person I know has moved to Boston and not had the city exceed expectations.
