Hi everyone,

As always I've really been enjoying the other threads posted by everyone else. This site's been a great source of information for me, so keep the question/answer sessions coming. 🙂

I was just wonderring if someone would please compare Tufts and NYU for me. I've been accepted to NYU and waitlisted at Tufts and need some feed back from other people on the two schools. Any info on either school would be great.

(my second question is for those familiar with the NYU area. Where could I find a nice studio/1 bdrm appartment in a nice, and most important of all SAFE area? I've heard an area like "the village" would be nice. How close is that to NYU and how can I go about finding apartments?)

Thanks in advance to all those who reply to this thread

Lilly2007,
I will pick Tuft over NYU because of the following reasons.
1) The class size at NYU is too large for me, it will make it harder to get one on one time with the instructors.
2)The school is too expensive, having a loan over $250K after school is not a joke, regardless of how much money you make ones you get out.
3)The second year class is even larger than the first year class. Which is a no no for me.
I don't know much about Tuft from what I heard in this forum tuft is a good school with nice facility.
Don't get me wrong NYU is not a bad school. If NYU is the only school you got into go there, but if you have a choice go to a cheaper school with less number of students in the class. Good luck on your decision.

ibo man,

Your right about the large class size at NYU being too big, and Tufts having really nice facilities. But I think the cost of NYU is about the same as Tufts (in the 250K-275K range). Or am I making a mistake? To me it seems like almost all private dental schools fall somewhere between that range.

I'm curious to know where you got the info on Tufts being cheeper than NYU. Maybe I'm making a mistake or reading the FinAid documents wrong. Please let me know.

Thanks

Tufts tuition is around 250k range, I am first year at Tufts right now, and would reccomend Tufts over NYU. I totally agree with the other reply on this post about class size. If u have ne specific questions let me know, and I will try to answer it...

Hi PashaJ,

I PM'd you back about BU. I'm assuming you live in NYC, right? If so would you mind if I asked you more about housing and things like that as I get closer to moving there?

Thanks,
Lilly
