would someone that interviewed there or goes there please share with me there experience at the school and the reasons one would choose to go there?

Check the interview feedback section for more info on experiences. Also try searching for past threads. Tufts has only had two interview days thus far so there might not be too much feedback on SDN just yet.

I interviewed there 2 days ago (Nov 10, their first interview date)
It went really well, everybody there is extremely helpful and interested in making you feel relaxed. They are not intimidating. The school is wonderful and they will send you a big packet with details about the program (b4 the interview).

Tufts is a great school. The interview process is really laid back. There are no grilling questions, more like a conversation. Right now the school is under construction, but it will be complete in 2009. Ask students questions during lunch, they will give you an honest answer. Don't stress about this one, be polite and be yourself. The best thing about Tufts in my opinion is that once your in they want to make sure you graduate, they really support thier students. Good luck

Through the interview we hope to establish a dialogue where you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your communication skills, public speaking ability, and motivation for a career in the health profession and more specifically in dentistry. You should anticipate challenging questions and understand that your responses will provide the Admissions Committee with a more informed understanding of your skills and motivations. On-site interviews are a mandatory part of the admissions process.

Sounds like they're gonna grill us to me!!! I hope you're right though...but dang I'm really gonna prep for this one. If anyone who's just had Tufts could let us know the intensity of the whole process I think a lot of us would really appreciate it. =)

its really the opposite of your fears. for my interview, i had a student. i felt it was more to see if i could carry a conversation outside of academics. of course we talked about dental related stuff....but the interviewer has no documentation of your grades. they just have a list of your accomplishments, undergrad/grad info, and extracurricular. so don't go there worrying about explaining a C- in orgo or a 15 in QR.

On a related note, how would you say the clinical experiences Tufts offers compares to other schools (namely UPenn and UoP)? It's really the only reason I'm flying all the way to Boston, and I'm hoping that Tufts can match these two schools on the amount of clinical training offered. I really want to live in Boston!

Hello,

I am a 1st year Tufts dental student living with a roommate who is a 3rd year dental student.
I am planning to move out due to personal matters and looking for a person to move into my apartment, the Metropolitan apartment located right across the tufts med school and dental school.
The apartment is very nice and you can go check it out at the website, http://www.themetropolitanboston.com/.

One room and its own bathroom in 2bed2bath is located on the 8th floor, and the rent will be $1250 per month.
It is available now for you to move in, and when you do, you will have to go through simple procedures (credit check and regular routine for signing the lease) to replace my lease which is to end in July, 2009 (you may choose to live longer after the contract ends, of course.)
I can assure you this place is very nice and conveniently located to school, and my roommate is very quiet, friendly, and sociable.
It saddens me to have to leave my apartment... and I would like to find my roommate a good new roommate she could live with after I move out.
