i think it's the same trend across north america. here in canada tuition goes up every year as well by about 10-20% on avg

Starting my first year at Tufts, and seems like tuition went up a bit compared to the last 4 years (which was at a constant). Boooo.

Guess it's a nationwide trend.

That is a huge increase, especially if you are at a school where tuition is large already. For example:

$40,000 + 10% = 44,000
$44,000 + 10% = 48,400
48,400 + 10% = 53,240
53,240 + 10% = 58,564

That totals $204,204 where as the total with no increase would have been $176,000. That's a difference of $28,204 over four years.

Obviously, tuition rates that go up greater than 10% each year would be even more. Amazing!

it's the same way just about everywhere around the country. the economic stagnation in our country is to blame. annual tuition hikes are to be expected, but many programs have seen 10 to 20% hikes this past year.

of course, our tuition isnt the only thing getting more expensive. insurance rates of all kinds are skyrocketting. ground beef has seen a signifcant increase this year. and, according to money magazine two months ago, dentists fees are on the rise.

must be nice to be a dentist🙂
