Hey everyone, I'm thinking about doing the Tulane ACP program next year...A friend who goes to Tulane told me that acceptances were given out recently. To those who were accepted, what was your GPA and MCAT? I'm trying to gauge whether or not to apply. Thanks!

I was one of the ones who got an acceptance-mine came this past Monday. I had a 29M on MCAT and a low 3 GPA, which is why the program looked good to me. I've heard really good things about the program. Also, I've lived in New Orleans for 3 years while doing my MPH at Tulane (also a good route), and it's a really great city.

Hope this helps. Good luck to you!

What is ACP? Is this a designation on AMCAS as well? I must have missed it

Anatomy certification program. It's a post-bacc program at Tulane for waitlisted students.

For all those doing the ACP program ~

Have you guys decided if you're going to stay on for the second semester? I know they offer neuroscience, but I also know it's optional and I wanted to gauge how many people are actually gonna take it. My thinking is that by then applications would have been processed and (hopefully) interviews would be starting to be dished out... so, I'm considering it. And for those who only intend to stay for the first semester: any plans as to what you'd do until matriculation (touchwood) into med school? Are most of you guys hoping to matriculate in the fall of 2007?

Sorry for so many questions...!

For me it all depends on if and where I am accepted. If I am in at Tulane, I will take the neuroscience so that the next year is a little easier in the spring as well as the fall. If I have been accepted elsewhere I probably wont, I think I will live for free at home and get a job so I can help pay for all the upcoming years of education. Then, hopefully in the summer I would like to spend lik 6 weeks traveling across europe or something crazy like that
