Hello!

I am in a bit of a snag. My TUNCOM interview is scheduled for December 5. I got an II to WVSOM the other day. She gave me a couple dates and by the time I replied they were full. She gave me a couple more dates and they didn't work due to another interview. Unfortunately the only day I could make work is also December 5.
I am thinking about cancelling my TUNCOM interview. I wanted to get your opinions and see if I'm missing out on anything by turning down TUNCOM. Thanks!

I'm going with wvsom

Depends, where are you from and what type of field are you looking to enter?

I feel TUNCOM will give you better chances to specialize.

Agree with this, but WVSOM has an awesome campus from what I've seen and a fair amount of their students do go into specialty fields! If you're from the west coast I'd say go to TUNCOM if not then go WVSOM.

TUNCOM would be my choice only because of how many possibilities their are in Texas for residencies. However, West Virginia is an amazing place.

I am from the West, but don't mind living elsewhere. I want to specialize, but in what I don't know yet.

TUNCOM=Touro Nevada. TCOM is a great school though, you are right. I also agree that WV is an amazing state. I could totally see myself living there someday, but then I again I say that about practically the whole Midwest as well.

Gosh dangit! I knew that! lol. Well, I would probably go with West Virginia, then. Lol, my bad I feel dumb for that one.

Nah I've made the same mistake before too.

Edit: for OP, WVSOM gives the most amount of dedicated study time for step 1 that I have seen. If you want to cut into your summer you could have almost 2.5 months. (No need for that much but you get the idea)

Damn didn't realize it was that much time. They were advertising 6 weeks on their site. Interesting...

Yeah but the students I talked to said that is onlybif you want to take the full 6 weeks for summer break. It's up to you when you schedule step 1 so if you put it two weeks into that break then you have 8 weeks. A lot of students there know from day one they want rural FM so a lot take less time and just get it over with because all they want to do is pass. Then the ones who are gunning take longer and also reach their goals. I actually was very impressed by WVSOM.

Maybe I missed this but do you already have an acceptance in hand from elsewhere? If you don't, I strongly urge you not to cancel either interview. Even people who think they are great interviewers can screw up or just not be what the school is looking for. If anything, I'd see if you can reschedule TUNCOM for later.

Edit: grammar

I didn't really like either school, but I'd go with Touro over WVSOM. Mainly due to location.
But Touro-NV was pretty malleable with their interview dates, you could ask for a reschedule.

I don't have an acceptance. I'll send them an email to see if I can reschedule.

I go to TUNCOM and I love it, I think its worth interviewing here, especially if you do not have an acceptance yet, don't turn any interviews down unless you know you would say no to an acceptancc.

Having just interviewed at WVSOM I would highly recommend you go to your II there. Phenomenal facilities and staff, was very impressed.

Fellow WVSOM student here, PM away your questions.....🙂 and yes I am mighty proud and happy with my selection of WVSOM...
