Turn down med school interview/acceptance, apply to residency?

For those of you close to applying for residencies, or those that have already been accepted into residencies...do programs that you have turned down interview/acceptances at (for med school) automatically reject you for residency/fellowship programs? I would guess not, since undergraduate medical education is a separate department from residency/fellowship education...but I dont really know.
