Hey everyone. Im currently a tutor at my university and have been for 1.5 years. I haven't been able to fit in research and the only positions i found would mean quitting my current job. I was wondering what you'd pick, tutoring for 2.5 years and no research or 1.5 years of tutoring and some research. Thanks!

I'd suggest to try to get some research, too. But, I'd also want to keep up with some sort of tutoring as well. One big reason, I noticed that even though I knew my stuff in class, tutoring the subjects got me to know them in ways I didn't when I was in class - which helps for certain standardized exams.

Where I work, most labs are flexible. I'm flexible! I have an undergrad that is doing research for credit, but she's working two jobs. We've worked out a schedule so that she can get her stuff done in the lab with me and still work. So, keep looking and talk to people. You should be able to find something, but it may mean not getting paid (other than with the wonderful experience you'll get).

Good luck! 🙂
