Two A's and a B vs. Two A's

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
maybe that's the add/drop deadline and the OP has been attending without officially adding??? weird

ok, so I don't know what else to say regarding enrolling vs. dropping other than "the deadline is this friday", as i mentioned in my original post. Don't you guys have a time period before enrolling before you can drop or continue with the class? What part of my post is confusing?

Most people enroll in classes and then have the option to drop. It's not usually the case that you can just attend and decide later whether to officially add. At least at my school if you aren't enrolled when the class starts the prof won't even have a grade book entry for you because you wouldn't be on the official roster. Aparently you school is different from what most of us are used to.

OP school is so ******ed. LOL I'll just go to every class and take every test. and wow if I do well, I'll add the course.
GOSH.

Strange. I'm not sure how to help because I don't understand the system. It's odd to me to attend classes for a month before even deciding to officially take them.

wow, I'm surprised at how this thread has been completely useless.

Wow. What an attitude towards people trying to help you. It's not our fault we don't understand how/why your school works the way it does.

i appreciate your concern and don't mean any offense. However, my question has nothing to do with how my school works. the reasons behind why I can choose not enroll in my classes this late has nothing to do with my question. My original question has not been addressed. Instead, people are calling my school (one of the best universities in the world) ******ed. So please forgive me if I'm a little frustrated.

My original question, whether or not 2 A's and some pass/nopass units are better than 2 A's and a B, has not been addressed. That would be because you didn't indicate in the question any sort of valuable information.

Whether it is A/A/B A/A/P A/A/W matters. If you don't clearly indicate how it is going to look, how can anyone help you?

One person called your school ******ed, and we have the ignore function for posts like that.

In order of what looks best to what looks worst:
A/A/P > A/A/B >>>>>>>> A/A/W.

How "bad" the A/A/B looks depends on your GPA, previous credit hours, if it is BCMP.

The taking of classes before enrolling in them is incredibly weird. I have never heard of it. Also, are you at one of the best universities in the world or your "local" university? Just curious.

I would think that A, A, B is better than A, A, P... Just my opinion though, but if I saw a pass grade I'd think it was to cover up something lower than a B. No idea how adcom's see it though. If you're still in the enrollment period, is there an option of taking something else instead?

I think the OP may be saying that that is the deadline for enrolling in the post-bac program..

Anyways, it really depends on what your original undergrad GPA is, and how sure you are that you can come out with a B. If you have a good original GPA it won't be the end of the world. But if you are doing this to raise your GPA, it may be a problem.

I had a couple Passes on my transcript, one because the class was only p/f, the other because I didn't want to study for it (taking the MCAT that semester). It never came up in interviews. Sometimes people just take classes pass fail because they don't need them for credit. Same as auditing in a way.

Yeah, I can't imagine it's a huge problem unless there are a ton. I was just thinking that it's a post bacc which most people take to raise gpa's so it might look odd to have one of those as p/f
