Hmmm I now realized that Optomcas has separate GPAs for Chem, Ochem, Physics, etc.

I took 20 credits 2nd semester freshman year (stupid, I know) and got a C in physics I.

And I took 15 credits over a summer session - did fine in Organic I, but got a C in organic II.

So I'm looking at 2.5 for both the physics and orgo GPA's. If every science course were lumped together, I would be fine. But now - it's quite apparent that I didn't do so great in those two prereqs.

Should I explain this in the grade discrepancy section? Anyone else been in the same boat?

That's a little odd that they calculate a GPA for each section.

I got a C in two pre-reqs as well and it evidently wasn't an issue because I was never asked about it. If your OAT scores are high enough to show that you know the material pretty well, I wouldn't worry too much. 👍

I think it's stupid that they make you calculate GPA for a cluster of 2 classes. Lots of people have gotten C's in either a physics or an ochem. I think you should be fine if those are your only two C's. They have a section for total science/pre req GPA, right? If not, I'm sure the schools will calculate that as well, so i think that you'll be fine. The only incentive to put something in the grade discrepancy are when you had a really bad semester (like a 2.2 or something) when the rest are good. Just my opinion.

JMU07 and eheaps - Thanks!!
