We need 2 science rec letters for all MDs, in general, to be safe. How strict is the definition of science? Can i ask my physics professor and my biomedical literature professor to provide the recommendation letters, and that will count for the 2 science recs needed?

To add to this question, what about a MD teaching a specialty GE course, like for example Pathophysiology but as part of a BSN program? I actually have a particular professor that I had an excellent experience with in Patho who happens to also be an Anatomy Lab professor at a top-ranked medical school. Would using their letter as one of the science LORs be beneficial or would I be better off with a letter from a Physics or O-Chem professor?

I'd raise my eyebrow at that second one.

You'd be better off with a letter from someone who won't rank you relative to the rest of a class of BSN students.
