i know the common consensus is that if a lab utilizes the scientific method, it’s considered good enough for medical school. This lab is sort of neurobiology in that we study electric fish’s signals and responses, but I think it’s more biophysics because it’s majority dealing with the collected data and sorting It out into something useful, with negligible interference. It’s very statistics-based so I’m unsure if this would be considered a “scientific method-utilizing lab”. Can anyone give any thoughts?

Anything that teaches you about the scientific principle is good, even if it's studying clams in Tahiti
Really! Anyone looking for a really fun research experience you should try like heck to get into this program at Berkeley that goes to Tahiti (the island of Moorea specifically).

This is Gump Station | Gump Station

I have run into students from the Gump Station many times while in Moorea. They all have said they were enjoying the heck out of their time and research there.

That trip is crazy expensive; I don’t think I could justify that price tag.

lol...it's only expensive getting there. 🙄 Once you are there you can actually live quite inexpensively. 😀

Over three thousand for a month of studying? How about just a free opportunity or a stipend-based one?

Come on man...it's freaking Tahiti! You expect them to pay you to be there? 😛 Trust me I pay more than that when I go to the islands visit for a few weeks. BUT...I typically end up spending much less there than I do when I go to Hawaii.
