U Michigan Residency Question

I am pretty set on attending Michigan. Here's the situation. My parents have their home in Michigan and claimed me as a dependent. However, because my dad and I work in another state, they did not grant me residency.

I am wondering, did anyone (or does anyone know of anyone) who was able to establish residency after they started at Michigan as a non-resident? If so, what did you have to do?

If you are paying income taxes outside the state, you are outside the state. I dont' think anyone is able to establish residency UNLESS you marry a resident. Call financial aid and ask though. They'll tell you (its thier job to help you if you it is possible)
