Hey...I was just wondering if anyone has heard anything about the Clinical Program at U of Missouri-Columbia or has any thoughts to share on the city of Columbia.

If you have any useful info to share I'd really appreciate it!! Thanks!🙂

Unfortunately the one professor I know in the psychology program will be retiring at the end of this year. I spent some time talking with him this week and he states that he absolutely loves it there and does not plan to move after he retires (he has lived all over the country.) He spoke very highly of living there.

Oh really?? That's awesome to hear. I got into the dual child clinical/developmental program there and I've never actually been to the city so I wanted to hear from others who had..thanks for the info🙂

I would say that it's your typical college town. It's not bad though. 🙂

I could be wrong...but I believe at my last interview (not at U of Missouri-Columbia) I spoke to an applicant who had already interviewed and been accepted there.

I interviewed there some years back and had mixed feelings on the program itself (as well as the people). Later learned that one of my profs had worked there previously and did not recommend it, even going as far to tell me that it was possibly a blessing I had not been accepted off the waitlist. Buuut, then again, most of the students seemed to really enjoy it. So figure out what's best for you. G'luck! :luck:

I dated a girl who went to Mizzou (I went to a different school in a different state) so I spent a fair amount of time in Columbia. It's a very fun town! I would love to go back there sometime!

Hello there. I'm originally from MO and have several friends/siblings who went to Mizzou. It is a complete college town and if you don't mind that, you would probably like it. It is situated between many cornfields but within a short driving distance there is a)St. Louis and b)the Lake of the Ozarks, both of which are great (I think). If you go there you will probably make some friends who have homes/condos in these areas. With all that said, I did not apply to Mizzou because the website said that the mean time to completion is about 8 years! If you or anyone else has more Qs about MO feel free to pm me.
