I have not seen anyone else post on U of Mn Twin Cities, but I have a question about one of the essay questions. The third one asks you to describe 2 of your extra curriculars listed on AMcas, but the tab it is under says 'volunteer'. In the question, it has no mention of volunteer activities, just extracurrics. Does this mean I can use any EC, or just volunteer ones?

Would anyone mind posting the essay questions for the UMN secondary? I took the August MCAT, and they won't send me the secondary until my file is complete. I'd like to get started though so that when I do get it, I can have most of the secondary done. Thanks!

Good luck w/your application. All the essays have to fit into a box and mine were between 1000-2000 characters.

Hey guys:
I received the secondary via mail on Saturday. I have a question about their LOR requirements. They request that the recommendations include a University of Minnesota Rating Form. Is everyone else doing this? I feel like asking my recommenders to do more is going to be a large hassle. I live across the country from most people that wrote them, and getting them to actually send in their letters was an accomplishment alone.
Any thoughts?

A good friend of mine applied last year to the U of M, and they didn't tell her for quite some time that her application was incomplete because one of her profs hadn't turned in the special recommendation form. She was waitlisted - who knows if the delay had anything to do with it, but they wouldn't consider her app complete without it. I haven't gotten the secondary app yet (see above post), but if/when I do, I am planning to get people who wrote LOR's for my committee letter to also fill this out. Hope that helps...
