u of penn mail

is a book that just tells you about the school, includes financial info that that stuff.

did you also get a letter with it too with a check list of things they want? I can't remember the order in which I got things last year. Might've been a separate one.

If it is I don't want to disappoint you or anything but it seems to be their standard fare. I got same thing last year but I never got an interview.

I do think it was very nice on their part to send out by mail than email you pdf link. It reminds me of when I was applying to college. there wasn't online app or anything so you had to check the mail and getting any mail seemed liked a good sign until that razor thin one came. another thing i liked about them the letters they sent are signed and not stamped or printed. Kinda makes you feel they put some time into it.

hey did anyone else receive an admission view book? does this mean anything?

Yep, got this Monday.

Here's the vibe I'm getting: it's as if they're saying, "Now that you've worked hard on the supplemental app and payed up, here's some eye candy to make you REALLY want to be accepted to our school as you wait out the next few months."

For me, it's working! Penn is becoming my top choice school. I'm impressed with everything I hear.

👍 Very classy.

They also wrote in my name on the checklist letter, which was a good touch.

I'm pretty sure everyone gets the viewbook. Penn was one of the few schools that sent one to me (Marquette was another). I was drooling all over it since it's a fine publication for a pre-dent 🙂

It is simply useful info for applicants. It is probably no indication of whether you will get an interview or not.

Yes; everyone who applied is getting one. I've heard that Penn takes huge initiatives to impress applicants. The interview, for example, is not so much about "Are you worthy?" but more about "Choose PENN!!! We love you!!" (Haha).

I like their methods. But, remember to stay subjective 😉

P.S. Note that the postage was almost $2 on this thing! I'm glad to see that my application fee is being put to good use 😀

Did you receive a view book from Marquette? I received a large envelope, but all that was inside was a letter stating all my materials are in.

Does anyone know if Penn sends acceptances/rejections via Express mail on December 1st? I've been getting their regular-mail letters 2 weeks+ after they date their stuff (I'm in Canada). I just wanted to know so I know not to freak out if I don't get any notice on December 1st. That, and do you know if we have a certain amount of time before we have to respond with a deposit??

When were you complete and what did you receive so far, Amalgam? I'm just wondering since I haven't received anything from Penn yet. Do they do interview invites via mail as well? 😵

I don't know when I was complete, but I had my secondary in pretty much ASAP. AADSAS was in second batch. I had a application complete letter, interview letter, and a interview confirmation letter..all by snail mail.

I submitted 7/18 and got the secondary in late July, mailed it back a day later, and got the interview invite in early August.

Mm. You guys were far earlier than me (my dentist letter was sent in just a couple weeks ago) but I called and they said my app was complete. I suppose I should just keep waiting. Thanks for the heads up!

When are your interviews scheduled for, if you don't mind me asking?
