I'm am ranking U of Utah highly as I was pretty impressed with the program. In talking to some students on the interview trail, it seemed that this program has a reputation for being pretty tough (at least for prelim IM applicants, which is a different population with different expectations than categorical IM applicants).
However, looking closely at their schedule, it seems quite nice: by my calculations, ~5.5 blocks have no call (outpatient, elective, and ED). However, in all my notes from the interview day I see nothing about the actual call frequency on inpatient wards. I found some old info online that said q4 but I'm wondering if anyone can confirm that, post-ACGME work hours changes.
