U Penn Summer Course

hey has anyone heard of this or done this before?

It's a week long course at U penn about dentistry and anyone can enroll for a mere $1,700. Is this even worth considering for someone who is applying to D-school?

This looks like it is similar to UMDNJ's "Gateway To Dentisry" program. If it is anything like the one in NJ, I would definitely suggest you apply to this program.

BTW, NJ's gateway program is FREE! Well, almost free. I think there is a $25 application fee.

I wouldn't do it. You'll have more than enough time in school to learn what you need to. 1700 for 6 days just seems steep for what they're teaching you. Basically they'll let you sit down at the dentsim and let you try to cut on the tooth what you see on the computer screen.

I'm sure you'll accomplish exactly what you will the first week of orientation to dental school.
