They both have roughly 40 seats which is the main reason I am interested in them.
If you have you researched both schools then I would love to know your opinion? I don't hear much about UMSL not sure why?

I have looked at both schools as well, also mainly because of their small class size. UMSL stands out to me as of now because of how awesome Dr. Brown and the rest of admissions committee has been with every part of the application process, and also because I was offered a preliminary merit scholarship if I am accepted...
what's your opinion?

Are you interviewing at either in the near future? Maybe we'll see each other there 🙂

I have already been accepted at UAB with merit scholarship. One thing I have noticed that schools with small class sizes are the most helpful and welcoming. That is the main reason I want to go to UAB or UMSL. I want to know everyone in the class and professors to know every student on a personal level. You get more value for your tuition.
UMSL is cheaper then UAB for out of state students. Unfortunately, I just sent out my application to UMSL and I think it might be too late. They already have interviews booked till December. So, the 40 seats might to filled by that time. When is your interview? Did you apply to UAB? Both schools are good. UABSO has the most funding in the country so they do give big scholarship. It shares resources with UAB medicine, dentistry and other medical branches. UMSL is cheaper and probably safer than Birmingham. Not a fan of downtown Birmingham not sure about St.Louis

I am a first year student at UMSL. If any of you have any questions about the school or why I chose it, feel free to PM me! Good luck on your interviews!

I was accepted to UAB with a contract seat, and I am about 99% sure i will attend there. I also applied to UMSL but it was only for a back up so I won't be doing the supplemental or interview. Anyways, I have family from the St. Louis area so I've visited many times. I can assure you it is not any safer than downtown Birmingham, haha. Especially East St. Louis. Not trying to discourage anyone from going there because my brother absolutely LOVES living in St. Louis, so there are "safe" spots too. The area just isn't for me. But I guess what I'm trying to say is almost every big city has the good and bad areas- so visit both and see which one you like!
