UC Berkeley Optometry |2019 Interview Invite?

Has anyone heard back from Berkeley yet? They said it would be by the "end of the first week of January." I can understand wanting some time after New Year's to wrap everything up, just thought this meant we'd get a response by the end of day on Friday (January 4th, today) since I can't imagine people would be working on Saturday for admission decisions.

Their office was closed until Wednesday. They probably meant next week.

I received an email from them yesterday, but not with good news 🙁 I'm guessing they're doing the bad news emails first and then the interview invitation ones. Good luck to you all!

in the past it's been a simple question such as "What qualities do you have that would make you a good optometrist?"

To my knowledge the essay is to ensure you have basic English writing skills and no one wrote your essay for you and the content isn't as important because they already have the rest of your application.

How much time is allotted for the essay portion? 45 minutes?

Update: 20 minutes are given to write the essay, for future interviewees
