I received a call today from UCD inviting me to an interview for the post-bac program. What is surprising is that I applied to their medical school but did not apply to any of the UC post-bac programs. Do the UC postbac programs invite strong medical school applicants that did not get matriculated to their post-bac program without an application? Is there anyone in the same situation?

As far as I know, only UCLAs postbac is for reapplicants, all the other ones are intended for people who never had science courses and who identify as URM/disadvantaged. Of course, that might have changed seeing as it was UC Davis that contacted you and not LA.
