UC fee increases

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
hey,

thanx for the info. good to know things have finally been solidified. (although, the extra $4500 is not appreciated...)

Does anyone know how much non-resident med school tuition will be at the UC's now? Not that I have much of a shot, but I am deciding whether to apply to UCLA and UCSF or not and the cost is definitely a factor. Thanks!

Here you go from the www.ucop.edu link:

The increases approved by the regents are $2,600 for theater/film/television; $3,800 for law, pharmacy, and optometry; $4,000 for veterinary medicine; and $4,500 for business, medicine and dentistry. As noted above, however, these students will not be subject to the 20 percent increase in nonresident tuition.

Remember the budget is not set until the legislature approves it. But it looks like the hikes will not be any higher than this since the majority opposes the cuts and hikes for higher ed. So that is good news at least for this year 🙂 What happens in the future remains to be seen.
