i checked on the status page, and it says "At this time you have not been awarded a Seondary Application. Thank you for your patience!"
does that mean that i will most likely not be getting one? 🙁

no! don't think that! I had been thinking I wouldn't get a secondary for weeks! (ever since other SDNers got theirs and I didn't). But I just got mine this morning (7:35 AM PST..weird lol)! So don't assume you won't be getting one. They're still sending them out! Keep your hopes up! You never know 😀
oh and just in case you're curious, they received my AMCAS info on 6/16 so it's almost 2 months now!
And btw, just cuz I got the email at 7:35, i'm assuming they don't send them out manually cuz I don't think anyone works that early, so maybe they're sending them in batches, and you guys will get your real soon!

That makes me feel so much better. After reading some of your other posts I kept thinking "well at least I'm not alone, cuz coco hasn't heard either." Really happy for you coco. Hope I can join you in the cool boat soon.

from what i've heard, UCI screens initially with a computer, if your numbers make their cutoffs, they send a secondary automatically. if your numbers don't make the cut, (all of) these applications go through a manual review. so if you haven't received one yet, don't loose hope, a person will actually look over your application.

now if davis would just look at my application!! i'd love to start writing those essays!

it's a well known fact that they do screen (approx. 50% of applicants don't get a secondary from what i've been told,) and though you may have had good intentions in saying what you did, it wasn't particularly helpful. yes, maybe i was being overly sensitive, cuz you know what it does just plain suck to think you might get rejected pre-secondary. and i'm not a disagreeable person. in fact, i am a sweetheart. as for getting laid, i'm glad you felt comfortable announcing your level of sexual activity to everyone. oh boys, and their easily damaged egos and need to overcompensate.

wow, that sux. and uci was supposed to be the "easiest" uc to get a secondary from, i wonder what percentage get ucla and ucsd.

No, being an Aug. MCATer won't hurt you for a secondary, but it may hurt you for getting an interview. Sorry 🙁

She didn't mention formula but just that their avg. stats are 30+, lower than the other UCs. But she said that they look at grade trends and evaluate your app many times throughout the process. In case you're wondering -- I have a 3.46 and 9 on MCAT, and got their secondary. So I'm assuming I barely squeaked by??

Keep your hopes up -- they are very genuine and diligent with reviewing your app.

i think never is a strong word, its probably a lot tougher so the ones with very high numbers have a chance.

as for the screening cut-offs, im pretty sure its either 3.5+ gpa OR 30+ mcat, i talked to one of the people that do the interviews there 🙂
