I have to agree with my colleagues' response to the recent events that were reported in the OC register. There isn't one program that is perfect. Currently absolutely all of the deficiencies that were found by CMS have been remedied. Also, regarding the liver transplant program closing down, it's over with and in the past. Our department was not involved in it and we do not feel our training is compromised because of it. You know, a department's strength and character is seen through trying times. It's easy to function and move along when you're not under scrutiny, but I firmly feel that we have come out of all this stronger. We've had the opportunity to demonstrate to CMS our superior documentation with the new electronic anesthesia records we now have. They really liked what they saw. It has helped streamline documentation tremendously. Our patient care has never been compromised throughout this entire time. We have a lot going for us in this department. I second my colleagues' recommendation of checking out our website and applying to come to our program for an interview. Although we may not have the history some other programs have and are a relatively young program compared with others, we do have a lot of exciting things going on in our department. We're moving into the new hospital in a few months here and we're all excited about it. Any questions I'd be happy to answer. All the best to all of you in your searches for the right program for you.
