Hello fellow UCBSO interviewees (that's a word right?) We all know that the dress code for the interview coming up this Saturday is business casual. However, I am wondering if some of you are going to wear a suit? I don't want to be over-dressed, but I always believed it's better to be over-dressed than under-dressed. What do you all (especially the gals) think?

i agree..im not sure what to wear either. suit is usual standard for these interviews..but they stated business casual?? *shrugs* please let us know!!

I did not apply to UCB but I am wearing a suit to all of my interviews. At one interview I've been to all the women wore suits. Just do what you feel comfortable with, but I don't think you'll be overdressed in this case.

Good luck with y'all's interviews! 😀

I hate being overdressed as well, but I hate being undressed even more. As ettiquette should have it, it is always better to be overdressed.

Advice I've been given: Business casual means formal. Casual means business casual.

I will wear dress pants, shoes, and shirt and stuff myself in a nice sweater under a jacket so I can go from business casual to formal in a flash (like superman).

I’ve been to three interview days at Berkeley and pretty much everyone wears a suit. The only exception was the year I interviewed and my friend wore his dress slacks and jacket with a t-shirt and tennis shoes because his luggage was delayed and he didn’t have his dress shirt or shoes. He did get accepted and pointed out the fact that he liked being different and standing out from the crowd during his interview. So, it worked for him not to wear a suit. I agree that you should probably be overdressed than underdressed, and wear comfortable shoes.
