anyone else get a UChicago email saying thier application is put on hold?

Damn! This will just make me depressed for the rest of the day!

yeah, I already submitted my sec...it said it has "already been reviewed by adcom"

I would take that as not being offered an interview, at least for now?

I would imagine that you are in "hold for interview" limbo. So the good news is that I doubt they outright rejected you, and you are still in the hunt for an interview. But they will proabbly look at other secondaries then come back to you, etc. So you may still get an interview, it just may not be for awhile.

Does the application have to be totally complete (all recs in) before a school offers an interview? Shaz, did you have all your recs in? I know UNC implied in the letter that ppl can be granted interviews before recs/committee packet is in...

also, for the question about when i submitted my sec, I think it was mon last week...I searched online and UChicago says 400 people are given interivews on first look, and 200 people are put on hold: out of that, 50 eventually get interviews.

hmmm, shaz, so you are not in bad shape, but i guess not the auto-interview.
by the way, good job on getting yours in so fast. i know i am eventually gonna be in the same boat as you.
