I'm not sure but I imagine thats changed with the curriculum revamp. Regardless: No, that little difference in rank wont make a difference, you'll perform better if you're happy anyway. Go to the one you felt better at.

Not anymore. They fired all of their administration and started over from the ground up. They also switched to P/F for pre-clinical years and are really making it all about the students. Everyone on the interview day seemed to love it.

UCSD would be my choice for 3 reasons:

1) Its in La Jolla

2) Its ranked higher

3) They're getting a brand spankin' new building for all medical school classes.

I'm a second year at UCSD so I'm baised but I would say UCSD.

I really like my science classes here and some of the profs are actually surprisingly bearable.

I'd personally go with the school you enjoyed most, which seems to be UCI.

Irvine is in Orange County. There are a ton of hot girls in Orange County.

I am mainly concerned about the fact that perhaps choosing UCI over UCSD may limit my opportunities come residency time. If this is not the case I would most certainly go with UCI. And hot girls are everywhere you need to know where to look haha

UCSD will carry more name recognition if you want to match out of state, but how well you do as an individual will obviously still count for far more in terms of the difference between these two schools in particular. I thought both schools gave out copies of their match lists during interviews (you can pull up UCSD's online but I'm not sure about UCI)? They both looked fine last year when I scanned them for ROADs i thought

Is there something about UCI that would make you want to choose it over UCSD? (Did you get a clear picture of their different approaches to teaching- you will get a better picture in the spring of how the first class at UCSD feels about the revamped curriculum. Get a schedule of their days during different times in the year to see how the lecture hours at both schools stack against one another, etc etc)

I would wait until you get your financial aid package and after you go to second look before making a final decision, and just rest easy until then now that you bagged at least 2 acceptances. Heck maybe you might get another acceptance that makes this decision obsolete.
