Bueller..... Bueller..... Bueller.....

I think AnnTaylor may have typed out a question but then subsequently tried to delete the post. It looks like SDN does not permit post deletion.

Newbie here, please correct me if I am wrong!

while we're here, can we talk about these programs and if they are open to DOs... require research, act?

I interviewed at the CA programs a few months ago as a MD candidate and one program director put it pretty frankly when he said that they all compete for the same top 80 or so applicants (among all applicants nationally and internationally). So your UCLA and UCI and UCLA-Harbor and UCSD etc compete from that pool. I actually ran into the same applicants at different programs so I think this stacks up. As for how many DO folk end up in that pool I simply don't know, but I don't think too many. I remember meeting a few international applicants, but they were coming from peds and surgery programs.

I applied to CA programs this year as a DO. Top quartile and competitive board scores.

Didn't interview at UCLA-NPI, UCI, UCSD or UCSF. Maybe there were other holes in my app, I don't know, but I thought I'd at least get one interview out of those four. As an fyi, no DO has been in any of those programs over the past four years (don't know about UCSD since I didn't find residents listed on their website).

Good luck.
