ucla anyone?

does anyone know why ucla is slow with getting back to applicants? i've heard back from half of the schools I applied to and I was eager to hear from them, so I emailed them just to make sure that my application wasn't missing anything and they seemed very brusque in their response. I read in someone else's post that they don't start contacting people until late october 😕

Don't worry, UCLA just holds interviews really late in the year. I think the very first one was last Friday; at least that was the first time I saw people in suits walking around in the dental building. I didn't get an interview here until late February, and I got in. I hear they do interviews even into mid-April. So don't worry too much about not getting a call yet; it can be a long wait for an interview at UCLA.

They started reviewing their applications in late Oct, and they've already sent out their first batch of interviews. You still have plenty of time before you start worrying about UCLA. They tend to be very slow when it comes to reviewing your applications.
However, according to their admission coordinator, applicants are strongly advised to contact the admissions office in order to ensure that their file is complete. I sent them an email, and they contacted me within 2 days saying that my application is complete.
