I am planning on going to dental school and would like to prepare for the DAT. Is there anyone out there locally who is in the same boat and would like company to study? I'm in the Los Angeles area...UCLA, Santa Monica, South Bay.

Does everyone just study on their own? I always found it more productive to study with others...maybe thats just me.

hey buddy..

not to get u discouraged, LOTS of people have taken their DAT already (so it's kinda hard 2 find a study buddy) plus, UCLA students (in ur study area) are starting their quarter.

good luck though! when r u takin the dat?

it's more productive to study by urself. i don't know about other ppl but for me, if i study with someone, we end up talking about other things and the day's wasted. However, if u're stuck on a section...it's always nice to hav a dat contact buddy...or u always have SDN.

i do better when i study with someone else. helps me stay on track and we can help each other if we run into problems.

I am just going to begin studying, so I don't exactly know how much help I can be. But didn't you already take your DAT in Oct.? Are you retaking?

Anyways, if your still in need, let me know...

Sorry it took me so long to reply. This quarter is owning me right now. I'm going to have to postpone DAT studying for a little bit. When are you guys planning on taking it?

i plan to take dat after july 4th... but before july 10th...😎

join the ucla pre dent association. Its a great way to meet other fellow students who are planning to take DAT soon. I was a member and I definitely would advice you to do the same. Plus you get a whole bunch of other information, talk with already existing ucla dental students, in fact they assign you a "Big Sib". The pre dental society associates with many ucla dental students who participate in this program to become a 'mentor' to the pre dents. you will be assigned to 1 dental student. you exchange your info and they actually help you out a lot and guide you.

I am not sure if you already knew about this at ucla or no but i thought it would be a great thing to be aware of on campus. 👍 🙂
