Me too...I neither got the snail mail nor the email abt the exam format yet 😱

yes, there r going to ask amalgam cl 2, mod onlay and pfm ant.
Written exam they have mentioned all subjects of part-2.

Anybody going to UCLA on 8th to 10th nov. From bay area. I am from Santa clara CA. if any (female) wants to share room pls PM me.We can go to gether or share room too.

Relax buddy..there is no waxing or casting that u have to do..it's just class2, pfm and mod onlay(optional)
I finally got my email today abt the exam format but they don't know my interview time yet 🙄

I would like to know about the practical exam conducted in UCSF. My question is whether the Typhodont will be mounted in a MANIKIN for us to do the preparation or will we be allowed to hold the typhodont in the hand for doing the tooth preparations.

I received email today from UCLA to bring high speed handpiece.

I use 4 hole adapter in my office but I was asked to bring 5 hole.
Do you have any idea I can get the handpiece in LA?

yeah i saw the mail just now. i dont understand how they can ask for the handpiece after making us pay 300. i think 4 holed handpiece fits 5 holed set up. usc lets poeple use 4 holed handpiece

Ann, I think that peoples here must be all equiped with instruments.

Now I am calling to my colleagues to borrow 4 hole handpiece
In my office, I use 2 hole one which is poplular here in my country.

They dont have the same exam pattern as UCSF. It consists of some MCQ's, Some short answers and so on, IF THEY HAVE NOT CHNAGED FOR THIS YEAR.

It is surprising to me to ask u guys to get a hand piece. Last year they gave us.

does every1 have a handpiece? i didnt buy one coz i am not attending usc. y r they talking 300 and thn asking us to get our own handpiece this is a rip off. i think we all should talk to thm and either ask for a refund or tell thm to provide us with handpiece.

Kinda done with the UCLA interview....was kinda ok...Dr.Don said the final list of selected candidates will be released by end of this month...keepin my fingers crossed... All the best for u all..

Hello friends,

Done with the interview atlast 🙂 ..It was pretty hectic..Surprisingly they asked more than expected..looks like they changed the format compared to last year..here it goes

Interview: it's a panel interview(4 interviewers)-it's pretty laidback, they asked much about our Dental school like what have we learnt there, our goals and some common interview questions.

Written: 120 mcq's covering all clinical subjects for 4 hrs in morning

Practical: 5 exercise in 4 hrs!..It was crazy. They asked Lowermolar MO amalgam prep & filling(unexpected), Upper Pm-DO, Upper pm-MOD gold onlay, Upper canine-PFM...I ran out of time & they didn't give even 2 min extra 🙁

But they treated us well & gave us a goodlunch for the 2 days we spent there..the Campus was amazingly huge and nice!

The thing is they invited more for the interview this time compared to last year. Apparently they invited only 25 for 12 seats they had in last year..but this time they invited 32-35 for the 9 seats they have 😱 Keeping my fingers crossed
It was nice meeting couple of SDNers 🙂

Looks like they sent out emails today afternoon for the accepted candidates..Unfortunately I didn't get any emails today (means I am not acccepted 😱 )..I know one person from sdn got accepted but I am wondering what happened to others?..May be u guys r busy attending UOP interview...I hope u guys will be posting sunday after the uop interview..

my wife got accepted to UCLA, USC, LLU....

since she will be joining LLU in March...she will call UCLA & USC to cancel her seat so somebody else could get her spot...
