UCLA interviews and spots

Hey all,

does anyone have any idea if UCLA is still inviting people for interviews? I have been checking on predents and there hasnt been much action. Also, any idea how many seats are left? Ive tried emailing the school but I always get the same standard response which is "your file is still under review, we will let you know when your status changes" (very aggravating!)..... Anyway, any info helps!! Thank you!!!

I was emailed two weeks ago and invited to interview, I have an interview at the end of the month.

Predents.com shows that people interviewed on March 14th last year. But for all of those that don't get an interview in march - my friend interviewed in like may, because someone backed out...so there is still a chance

One of buddies interviewed there in June (or late May?) and was accepted, but he ended up going to Michigan. So you definitely still have a shot! You've filled out the secondary right?

Yeah, he interviewed in May for alternate list but got in the next day (which shows how much a good interview can help you at alternate interviews). I think I know who you are talking about - I stayed with him at my Mich interview - one of the chillest people I know.

I am going to an interview Mid-April for a UCLA alternate spot. I just got the email on Thur.

I am still trying to find the interview forum. I will probably get there soon, but please reply if you know how to get there, or have advice for the interview.

Why is UCLA such a sought after school?

I can't speak for everyone, but in my mind the reasons that made me decide to go to UCLA were the following: Location (Southern California), Cost (Its a state school, and even though its one of the more expensive state schools, its still cheaper than private schools), Specialty Rates (I am not sure whether I want to specialize or not, but if I end up wanting to, I wanted to go to a school that gets a big fraction of their class into specialties - which UCLA does), lastly I think that I want to set up my practice in Southern California, and UCLA would do a great job of getting me ready for that. I think that for all of those reasons, a lot of people want to go to UCLA. Hope that helps.

they also have a teaching program --that was the uhh...deal maker..hehe
