Hey I have a question about the UCLA supplement. Do my essays have to fit into the given space or can I go over the space provided. I cant see it being a problem if UCLA looks at the supplement electronically because they can just scroll down but if they actually print it out to read, this will be a problem. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

even if they did look at it on the computer, you cant save the pdf file with fields in it. meaning you have to physically print it, then scan it, then send them the pdf of the scanned pages. it sounds like you havent started it, because if you did (even if you just read the first page) you'd see you cant save.

I did read this part but I tested it and when I save it it also saves the things i type into it. I also emailed it to my sel and opened it on multiple computers and the text is saved. It is also in pdf format so I am a little confused about what is wrong about this.

You can't save it if you're using Adobe. For Mac users, we can use Preview to open the pdf and actually type & save. I did that and sent in my secondary application few hours ago.
Good luck!

This method using Preview will not work...I have tried it and was notified by Noemi that the submitted pages were all blank. You will have to scan the pages and then email them over. Hope this helps!

My ULCA brethren, I have a solution to all our PDF woes!

http://www.tracker-software.com/product/pdf-xchange-viewer

Lets you save text and even draw in your signature.

Try it out...and when you've saved your stuff, open in adobe reader and you can open it! Best thing is its not scanned so the file quality will be excellent and still be under their 5mb size limit.

EDIT: ITS A FREE PROGRAM. There is a paid version if you want to get it, but the free one lets you edit PDFs fully!

Are you sure it doesnt work? I emailed it to myself (I have a mac) but opened it on my dad's old pc (windows xp) and it displayed all my text. I also printed and everything came out exactly the same. I also tried this on my brother's laptop (windows vista) and it also worked. I wonder what UCLA is using to look at these pdf's lol?

Well, I don't know what UCLA is using to open the PDFs, but I did get a notification saying that they couldn't open the PDF...maybe they will be open to open yours? Who knows :xf: Good luck! 😀

I have not submitted mine yet but seeing that you are in the same situation as me, I will just follow the steps outlined in the supplement to avoid any problems. Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks for letting me know.
I sent it to my dad's PC and indeed, it did not show.
I used other method to send in a revised form.
Thanks again!
