  1. Pre-Dental
I do not know if it is true or not, but I heard UCLA and UCSF are in contact with each other and usually students who are accepted by one school are rejected by the other school. Has anyone else heard about this?

I heard about this happening for med schools. Does this happen for dental schools also?

I know MANY choose between UCSF and UCLA.

It sucks, does not it?

Many of my classmates also got accepted to UCLA..so I'm gonna have to go with...this doesn't happen as a rule.

Since you go to UCSF and interviews students, could you tell us , in general how many students usually get off the waitlist?

I don't know about this...but I got rejected from UCSF and accepted to UCLA. Personally, if i were to get accepted to both, the choice really would come down to where I would want to live. Both seem to me like excellent schools all around. I think SF as a city has a different philosophy in general compared to LA. For me it comes down to where you would feel more comfortable at. I didn't have the luxury of this choice, but for what it's worth I woulda chosen LA anyway (I'm an LA native)

Wow! If this is true, I didn't know it was happening.
How did you hear about this?

I heard that from my friends who go to UCLA dental school

It wouldn't surprise me. Maybe if you tell a school they are your top choice then you might get rejected from the other (assuming you don't tell both).

But is it not illigal to share applicants information with other schools?

i got accepted to both ... i imagine both would be independent, and excellent schools.

Congradulations baliztiknsg. Do you have any research publications?

Not with any degree of accuracy...sorry 🙁

Please guess. Given that I am not accepted or rejected (and not even on the waitlist), what do you think is my chances of being accepted?

Hey PDizzle! I was wondering if you could share how students at UCSF are doing clinically, especially after the Denti-cal cut and budget cut. I got offers from UCSF and UOP and have a hard time choosing as well. (I won't be looking into specilizing until in dental school, so that wouldn't be a concern for now.) Thanks a lot!!
