did you call today to schedule the interview? were you able to get a hold of somebody?

Did Uconn have a secondary at all? How do you know which schools have secondaries and which are interview only?

congrats hattrack! mind posting your stats and which state you are from. i applied to UConn and am anxious to hear back from them.

You should do a SDN search on UConn. I seem to recall some pretty upset students there who felt as if they were treated extremely poorly as students by the faculty and staff. It sounded like revolution was scheduled to begin any day. SDN interview feedback on UConn is also pretty good. gl.

Yeah ive read the threads that say horrible things about UCONN.....but I've also heard a lot of good things from other people too. I think the biggest thing is that many of them don't realize how hard of a program it is until they get into the thick of it.....I feel if I am mentally prepared for it, then it wont be as bad.......also you have to remember that they always have one of the highest national board exam percantages......and I'd definitly like to specialize.....also I've taken a look at the interview feedback recently and most people say that the interview is not the horror story that they heard it would be.......

no secondary required.......i recieved a letter that had asked for more money....once I sent that back I, I got my interview invite a week later.....most schools will send you an update and what they still need from you.....or you can check out the school's websites to see if a secondary is required..

Thank you hattrack04.

awesome. when did you schedule it for?

Early October......I'm trying to schedule 3 interviews during the same weekend.....but I am still waiting to hear back from the other two schools.....that's the main reason for me scheduling it in the beginning of Oct. instead of late September.....

the UCONN students on SDN have said repeatedly it's not the academics. they seem to actually enjoy the first two years well enough. it sounds like the a__ kicking begins in third year w/ clinics.. the last two years seem to scar them pretty good emotionally. enjoy!

I also recieved an invite from UCONN yesterday the 29th. I have not scheduled an interview yet. Do you guys think that I should schedule as soon as possible before I go back to school or should I wait for September when I am more prepared? Thanks.

the interviews do not start until mid-September anyways....

oooh OK ... i havent called up yet but thanks

Just a little FYI; I go to UConn and am currently a business student there in the process of switching over to Pre-Med. I recently talked to someone who's in the car club with me about the Pre-Med program at UConn and he said it was absolutely horrible, and he said it's hardly a "program" there. He said the classes aren't the issue though, it's more so the fact that (as someone else mentioned) the faculty is just terrible. They don't care at all about the students, and supposedly the head adviser of UConns Pre-Med is just a complete ass who could ultimately care less about the students. Anyway, good luck with your interviews and all that 🙂.

I just called UConn about logistics regarding my application (got a request for application fee when I already sent it out early august)...and they informed me that they just mailed me an interview invite! Yay! First of the season.

They churn out specialists at a good clip, but my only bit of confusion lies in why their alumni donation is so low. If I graduated from a school that gave me the tools to specialize, I'd be very generous towards that institution.
