I have been given an interview at UConn but I am out of state. Anyone come by any numbers as to how many they interview vs. spots? I know only 1/3 of the class is out of state. I don't want to spend $500 to fly all the way there just to be in 1/10 odds or something.

Thanks

Usually only 180 people get interviews, and out of that 90 get accepted. So since you have an interview, you basically have a 50% chance to get in. If you're actually interested in going to UConn, I think you should go to the interview.

But I assume the 180 is spread out throughout the year, so the chances of getting in would be higher than 50%. But the out of state tuition there is pretty good, cheaper than many privates.

Everyone who gets accepted to UConn gets instate tuition after the first year too.

Yes, tuition looks real good after 1 year. But still got the $22k in fees! I like how that works. Cheap tuition, still got those fees.
