Very similar programs, but which would you choose? and why?
Got accepted into both and can't make a decision.

Interesting. Do you want to go to med school or a dental school that doesn't care much about their students?

To ivy or not to ivy, that is dentstd's question.

Students hate both schools equally. You can hate going to med school in Harlem, or feel like you can sue UConn. Oh well. Let's wait and see what else you get in the coming month....

Columbia is the best school ever for me... dont know much about UConn.

Don't know much about Columbia except that it is an expensive school👎 , in a great city👍 , and has a large Jewish population so you get tons of holidays 👍 .

Both have rigorous didactics.

If I had it to do over again, no one could pay me to go to UConn. Go to the Dental Forum and do a search for threads about UConn. It seems that year after year, there are tons of ppl who post threads bashin' UConn. The real problem there isn't the didactics, it is the way the administration treats you and ppl just stand by.

My advice to anyone who's having trouble sorting out acceptances: go back to the schools and take a long, relaxed visit. You're not nervous like you may have been during your interviews, and you can stop students and ask them questions or do another careful tour on your on (and discover rooms that weren't on the tour before 😉)....you can sort of stand back and realize that now, it's YOUR decision to make.

I don't think I would have made the same decision I did if I hadn't gone back to visit all the schools, and I'm SO happy with mine.

UCONN to be bad. Don't go. I hear now and to be very upset with the college.

I'd pick Columbia. That's a tough decision though.

You must be talking about UCONN and UCLA respectively right?
In that case Id say choose UCONN hands down.

Choose UConn.😀 Save Columbia for me.

I know Columbia's expensive for sure. UConn, I don't know too much about, but heard that it has a great dental program.

Someone mentioned earlier that there were a many Jewish holidays here at CU and people get more holidays...I'll tell you one thing. It really just means that academics will be tougher since you're taking classes with smart hardworking people, AND you don't get off on religious holidays, 'cuz it's a private school (IVY) and you just don't get off on those holidays, unless it's your religion... 👍

Good luck with whatever your decision is. 😎

You are so full of nonsense. The entire class get free on Jewish holidays. I love the jews cuz of that, not cuz they are smart hardworking people.

Yay Jews. Haha.

I've seen some pretty bad threads here about UCONN. They say dental's not the only program with that prob.
