I have been accepted to almost all of the schools I have applied to and I have finally narrowed my choices down to UCONN and Columbia. I have sent my deposit in to UCONN but i still have time left for Columbia. I am trying to make my final decision and was wondering what you guys thought. I am from New York, roughly 15 min from Columbia and 1 1/2 hours from UCONN. Any insight on the matter would be really helpful, ecspecially from those of you who have accepted at either school. Thanks

Hey,

Just wondering why you ruled out Tufts? Was it mainly the price?

I am going to Uconn..i was decding between conn and penn but tuition and the amazing academic program at Uconn won me over..

uconn's a lot cheaper
both schools have excellent rep
congrats to u guys for getting in!

I think u should go to UCONN as it is cheaper, and has good academic rep. I am not saying Columbia is bad but i think UCONN is better.

Also a uconn student and in response to pat's post

he's right on the mark

UCONN is HELL.... I've never study so damn much in my life!!!! Well, if you are picking between columbia and Uconn, you might wanna die here instead of Columbia so instead of wasting 60k a year, you will only be wasting 30k here..!! Which ever school you pick... i wish you the best of luck...

Both will be very hard and leave you with a great education. Go to the cheaper school. Of course, Columbia being so close to home is a definite plus. Especially if you have younger siblings, it might be worth it to stay in NY. But an hour and a half still isnt too bad. All said, UCONN has a better athletic program. Not that it matters to most people. Good luck!
