I just got a "hold for interview" from UCSD. Does anyone know why a med school would do this? Is it a good or bad thing?

At least you got the secondary...I got transmitted on the 19th and have yet to hear from them

hi kalak,

how were you notified by UCSD?

It is not good or bad. I think they put everyone who completes their secondaries on hold for an interview. I got that last year and ended up being rejected in the spring without an interview. Hopefully, you will get an interview though.

Good luck!!🙂

I got the status from an e-mail they sent me. It said just that I was on hold.
Do you guys and girls know if any other med schools do this?

Yes, many do and it seems like its essentially a waiting list for an interview from my point of view. Its like they have too many people, and they put you aside, not wanting to reject you but they only interview you later if they have space and time. I'm on hold at Tulane and the 2 people who said this happened to them were interviewed in the spring....

You are REJECTED .... 99% sorry, but i will tell you the truth. I am more man than the admissions committee.

Sit tight...I just got mine 2 days ago, and I also got transmitted on the 19th. They said they would take up to 6 weeks anyway. Good luck!

It's honestly hard to say. I know of people last year who were on hold and then later got interviews. Then there were others who were put on hold, never got an interview, and were subsequently rejected. Hopefully you'll fall into the former category. Good luck. 🙂

askew01...I was transmitted on the 15th and received a secondary on Friday,Sep. 5th. Your secondary may already be in the mail 🙂
