anyone know the chances of getting interviewed and getting accepted after being thrown in limbo at ucsd?

were you actually put on "hold" status or are you just not hearing anything. if the former, my friend got put on actual hold for interview status and later interviewed in march, but didn't get in.

i got put on hold and your answer does not make me very happy 🙁

got put on hold today too. some other person PMed me your exact same question. so that's at least 3 of us in this category. cheer up! it's early.

i find that this whole process builds character b/c i'm learning to not let things get to me. can't change my hold status so no point feeling too bummed.

ucdavis is my first choice. i pray i get an interview from them and not one of these hold thingees.

did ucsd email you or did you find out from your status page? i am a little afraid to check mine now.

Ugh, my alma mater! I can't believe them. Well, I searched some threads and there were people who got interviews around January to March, so it's not over yet. Good luck guys!

just curious, are all of you residents of california?

like the other posters said, don't be too bummed. because the worst scenario didn't happen. maybe its a blessing in that you'll prepare for UCSD with other interviews. 😉

i sure hope so.. thanks 🙂

i got put on hold too like 2 weeks ago 🙁

yeah, I am definately extremely excited about my UCD interview. It is my top choice so I am looking forward to it. But UCSd is also pretty up there for me 🙂 But I am by no means complaining 🙂

I was put on hold for an interview, later interviewed, put on the waitlist, and gutted it out until post-June 15th where I was subsequently put in the acceptable pool...Hey, I just rec'd my rejection letter this week 🙂 6 weeks after I started at COMP. They explained that the class was full. While it brought closure, it also brought agony, well...short-lived agony anyway.

UCSD was my dream school in my dream permanent location. Hang in there because UCSD apparently experiences a ton of movement. It is funny to watch on these boards how many people struggle with the UCSD vs (UCLA, UCSF, UCI, Harvard, etc.) acceptances...you just watch and wait and hope they decide to go to the more prestigous school. I know 2 people (as in I know them by their posts on SDN) that deferred for a year at the very last minute so if you can stomach it and hold out I would say you have a shot...assuming, of course, you made an interview and were waitlisted rather than outrightly accepted.

Anyway, best of luck to you guys. The hold for the interview seemed very common and I wouldn't read into it very much...I don't know if they get backlogged or what, but they seem to pick things up again and you'll have your day in court as they say.
