Hello, I'm going to be entering UCSD this fall as a freshman, but I'm a bit confused as to what math classes I have to take.

I realize that a few med schools require a whole year of calculus, while most require one semester of calculus and one semester of statistics. How do semesters translate to quarters?

Since I got a 5 on the AP Calc BC exam, I won't be able to take 10A/10B or 20A/20B (differential/integral calculus), and I'll have to jump straight into 10C or 20C (multivariable). Which class would you recommend between 10C and 20C?

It would be very helpful if someone could give me a list of the math classes that I need to take to fulfill the requirements!

Talk to your premed adviser for the most accurate information, especially in regards to your specific school. Once you start you will learn who they are.

I went to UCSD for undergraduate. Do you want easy or do you want a challenge? The 10 series is a joke. I also recommend PSYC 60 for statistics.

If you have ambitions for Harvard, opt for 20C.

Edit: I took had to take 20B & C (opted to not do the 10 series) as I only had taken Calc AB... so good job there). I actually enjoyed 20C... not bad.. but I can't help you out on teachers as I took these classes like 7-8 years ago.

Im an upcoming 3rd year undergraduate at UCSD. What I did was take 20c and then differential equations. I also took 10C and 20C (10C was much easier) I am planning to take psyc 60 (statistics). There are other statistics courses such as math 11/L (if you want a challenge).
