UCSD residency program

Just a quick update on the UCSD residency program. They are scheduled to be voted on by the ACGME in September. The consensus from the Chair and faculty is that they have all the pieces in place for the residency and are hopeful that they will be approved this year.

The plan right now (I think) is to get a temporary match ID so that applicants can apply this year. The program should know if they are accredited before interview invites go out.

Based on the interest level so far I'm guessing it will be a pretty competitive program.

The chair is Arno Mundt. He was the residency director at U of Chicago but he's been at UCSD for a couple years now. He's a really nice guy and very approachable.
